Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to in the form of Lita Ford) is a British born American singer on guitar who took as the lead vocalist of The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. They were noticed for their provocative songs and punk-rock design. The band was not able to gain a lot of attention on the scene in the United States but earned huge popularity overseas especially in Japan. After the band split in 1979 Ford started a lucrative solo career with heavy metal. After taking vocal classes, Ford launched her first self-titled album "Out for Blood" and then "Dancin at the Edge". Ford failed to make much with either album and remained out of the realm of rock for about an entire decade. The singer returned in 1988 with her wildly successful album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a major hit, along with the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. The popularity of her was brief, and she went under the radar for a couple of years. The resurgence of her career came with release of "Black" in 1995 as well as "Wicked Wonderland" nearly 15 years following. "Time Capsule," her debut album "Time Capsule" was made available by her in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
