Lita Rossana Ford (also also known as Lita Ford) is an British born American guitarist who was the role of lead singer in The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. The group was admired for their rebellious lyrics and punk-inspired fashion. The group was not able to gain a lot of attention within the United States but earned huge popularity overseas especially in Japan. The band broke up in 1979, Ford began a successful solo career in the world of heavy metal. Following vocal training, she released her solo debut album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin on the Edge'. Ford was unable to achieve anything with either of them and was largely absent from the world of rock for about 10 years. Ford returned to the scene with her hit album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. Unfortunately, her popularity was only temporary and she was absent from the world of music for many decades. The album's release Black in 1995 was followed by 15-year wait for 'Wicked Wonderland. 2016 saw the release of her most recent album of studio work "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the award of a Certified Guitar Legend.
