Lita Rossana Ford Also called Lita Ford, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who was born in the UK. She played lead guitar for The Runaways, a hard-rock group made up of girls in late 1970s. Their punk rock music and raunchy lyrics made them not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. Though the group didn't have much success in the United States, they were hugely popular in other countries. That was the case especially in Japan. Ford was able to enjoy a long and successful career as a solo performer after the band split from 1979. Her debut album as a solo artist was 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the record Out for Blood. Ford disappeared from rock for some time after both albums failed to become popular. The hit album "Lita" was launched by Ford in the year 1988. the single 'Kiss me Deadly' as well as the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' both became major hits. Her success was unfortunately short lived and for several years after, she went under the radar. In 1995 she debuted 'Black' and 15 years later 'Wicked Wonderland. in 2016, the most recent album, 'Timecapsule', was released. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend award.
