Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is an British born American guitarist who was the lead for The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They gained attention for their provocative songs and punk-rock fashion. The group did not have much of a following within The United States. However, their fame grew internationally and especially in Japan. Ford was able to enjoy a long and prosperous career as a solo heavy metal musician after the group broke up up in 1979. However, her success was only temporary and she was absent from the world of music for a number of decades. She re-emerged when she released 'Black' in 1995 and 'Wicked Wonderland almost 15 years later. The year was 2016, and her most recent album, 'Timecapsule', was made available. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
