Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford as she is most commonly referred to as was an American born British singer and guitarist who was the leader of the only female hard rock band The Runaways during the late 1970s. The group wasn't popular on the scene in The United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career following the split of her group in 1979. She started taking voice lessons followed by her first album "Out For Blood", followed by "Dancin" in the Edge. Ford was unable to achieve anything with either of them and was largely absent from the world of rock for around 10 years. The smash hit 'Lita' came out in 1989. The lead single "Kiss me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. Unfortunately her success was short-lived and she disappeared from the music industry for a few years. In 1995, she dropped 'Black' and 15 years later , she released 'Wicked. The most recent album "Time Capsule" was released in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
