Lita Rossana Ford was a British-born American musician, singer and songwriter. In the late 70s she played as the guitarist in the hard rocking all-girl group The Runaways. It was not possible for the band to be a major hit in America however, they enjoyed a great deal of acclaim in other nations particularly Japan. Ford's solo career in heavy metal was successful after the 1979 group break-up. Her debut solo album was called 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the album Out for Blood. Both the albums did not get much attention and Ford was largely absent out of the scene for a couple of years. In 1988, Ford released her smash album "Lita". The lead track "Kiss Me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" became huge hit songs. However, her success was only short lived and for several additional years she was absent.
