Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to in the form of Lita Ford) is an British born American guitar vocalist who played as the lead vocalist of The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. The group was admired by their raunchy lyrics and punk-inspired design. Although the band was not successful on the scene in their home country of the United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the breakup of her band in 1979. After taking voice lessons, Ford released her first single album "Out for Blood" and then "Dancin at the Edge". Ford's albums were not very successful and she disappeared for several years. The smash hit album "Lita" was made available by Ford in 1988. Both the track "Kiss Me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were huge hits. The success of her was brief and after a couple of additional years she was absent. In 1995, she dropped 'Black' and 15 years later 'Wicked Wonderland. Her most recent album "Time Capsule" was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the award of a Certified Guitar Legend.
