Lita Rossana Ford is popularly referred to as Lita Ford is a British American singer-songwriter, guitarist and vocalist who served as the lead guitarist of the all-girl rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their punkish sound and rebellious lyrics allowed them to be noticed throughout the world of rock. The band did not enjoy an enormous following within The United States. However, their fame grew internationally especially in Japan. Following the split of the group in 1979, Ford embarked upon a successful solo career in the world of heavy metal. Re-emerging with release of "Black" which came out in 1995, and "Wicked Wonderland" nearly 15 years after. The album she released most recently "Time Capsule," released in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
