Lita Rossana Ford is popularly referred to as Lita Ford, is a British American musician, songwriter and guitarist who was the lead guitarist in the all-girl hard rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their punkish sound and rebellious lyrics allowed them to be noticed within the world of rock. Although the band did not have much success in the United States however they became extremely popular in other countries. That was the case especially in Japan. Ford embarked on a heavy-metal solo career following the band's ended in 1979. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' On the Edge, followed by her album Out for Blood. Ford was unable to achieve anything with either of them and was largely absent from the world of rock for about 10 years. She returned with a bang with her smashing hit album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly (single) as well as Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were among her biggest hit songs. But her fame was only short-lived and she disappeared in the world of music for many years. In 1995, she released "Black," and 15 years later , she released 'Wicked. Her most recent album 'Time Capsule was launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
