Lita Rossana Ford (also also known by the name Lita Ford) is an British born American singer on guitar who took the role of lead singer of The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They were noticed for their rebellious songs and punk-rock style. While the group did not make much progress in America, they were hugely popular overseas. It was particularly true in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the breakup of her band in 1979. She began voice lessons, and recorded her first solo album 'Out for Blood then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford went missing for several years from the music scene as the two albums failed to get the attention they deserved. The singer returned with her smashing hit album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever were both major hits. Unfortunately her success was short-lived and she vanished from the music industry for a few years. Her release of Black in 1995 was followed by fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. In 2016, her latest album'Time Capsule' was made available. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
