Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford, as she's most commonly referred to as was an American born British musician and vocalist who was the leader of the only female hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. Although the band was not successful on the scene in their home country of the United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford's solo career in heavy metal was successful after the 1979 group break-up. Following vocal training, she launched her debut solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin on the Edge'. Ford vanished for some years from the music scene as the two albums failed to receive the attention they deserved. Ford returned to the scene with her hit album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her fame was temporary, and she was gone for several years. The album 'Black' was released in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later she reemerged. "Time Capsule," her debut album "Time Capsule" was made available by her in the year 2016. She was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
