Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford, as she's popularly known as was an American born British musician and vocalist who was the leader of the only female hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. While the group was not successful within The United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford had a long and successful career as a solo heavy metal artist after the group split up in 1979. After taking lessons in singing, she debuted her own solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Ford's albums were not very popular and she went on hiatus for a few years. The singer returned with her smashing hit album 'Lita which was released in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were among her most popular hits. However, her fame was short-lived, and she disappeared for a few years. Then she returned when she released 'Black' in 1995. Then she released 'Wicked wonderland' almost 15 years later. 2016 saw the release of her latest album of studio work "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
