Lita Rossana Ford (also also known in the form of Lita Ford) is an British born American guitar vocalist who played the lead in The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They gained attention for their rebellious lyrics and punk-inspired style. The group wasn't successful within the United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the breakup from her band in 1979. She started taking voice lessons before releasing her debut album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" in the Edge. The albums of Ford were not particularly successful and she disappeared for several years. In 1988, she came back to the music scene with a smashing album called "Lita. the single 'Kiss me Deadly' and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever' were both huge success. However, her success was only short lived and for several additional years she was absent. Her release of Black in 1995 was followed by a 15-year wait for 'Wicked Wonderland. 2016 saw the release of her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
