Lita Rossana Ford also known as Lita Ford as she is most commonly referred to as was an American born British musician and vocalist who led the female-only hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The group did not have an enormous following in the United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad especially in Japan. Ford's solo career in heavy metal proved successful following the group break-up. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the record Out for Blood. The two albums didn't receive much success and Ford disappeared from the rock world for a couple of years. In 1988, she returned to the world of music with an amazing album titled "Lita. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. The popularity of her was brief, and she went under the radar for a few years. Following the release of 'Black' in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland just 15 years later, it was back in the spotlight. In 2016, she released her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
