Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford is a British American singer-songwriter, guitarist and vocalist who served as the lead guitarist of the all-girl hard rock group The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics helped them get noticed in the rock world. It was not possible for the band to be popular in America, however, they enjoyed a great deal of attention in other countries and in particular Japan. Following the split of the group in 1979 Ford began a successful solo career in the world of heavy metal. She started taking voice lessons followed by her first album "Out For Blood" and then "Dancin" in the Edge. Ford went missing from the music scene for a few years following her albums didn't become popular. The hit album "Lita" was made available by Ford in 1988. Both the song "Kiss My Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were big hits. The success of her was brief and after a couple of additional years she was absent. Her re-emergence was with the albums "Black" which came out in 1995, and "Wicked Wonderland", almost 15 years following. Her latest album was released Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
