Lita Rossana Ford or Lita Ford as she is more commonly known as, was an American-born British musician and vocalist who was the leader of the only female hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band was never able to the band to be popular in America, however they did gain a fair amount of attention in other countries, especially Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the disbandment from her band in 1979. After taking vocal classes, Ford launched her first solo album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin at the Edge". Both the albums did not have much success, and Ford disappeared from the rock world for several years. The smash hit album "Lita" was launched by Ford in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a big hit, as were the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she disappeared in the world of music for many years. Re-emerging with releases of "Black" which came out in 1995, and "Wicked Wonderland" nearly 15 years following. The album she released most recently "Time Capsule," launched in 2016. The singer was honored with The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
